What is the Northeast Ohio Climate Action Plan?

A regional climate action plan creates a foundation for transformative action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, build resilience, and enhance equity. NOACA will design and carry out a climate action plan that integrates local initiatives and identifies opportunities to develop programs and policies at the regional scale.

The plan will include an inventory of current emissions, an assessment of resiliency and risk, and region-specific climate goals.  Northeast Ohio residents will access information and data to enable meaningful conversations throughout the public engagement process.

Importantly, residents will have the chance to help shape and frame the plan by providing feedback on the plan's core components. NOACA will introduce an engagement process so we can work together to reach a low carbon future that supports the national goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.

With the help of its stakeholders, NOACA will follow a public engagement process to -INFORM -CONSULT -INVOLVE -COLLABORATE -EMPOWER throughout decision-making.
